Call for Research Issues: JGSS (Nationwide Survey in Japan)
We invite social science research proposals to be explored and pursued by our General Social Surveys. Successful applicants are entitled to participate in the survey from its design stage in cooperation with the JGSS Research Center and to collect and analyze the survey data to undertake the research. (*Applications for research proposals for JGSS are invited about 12 months prior to the implementation of the relevant JGSS.)

Survey Term:February to April, 2012
Survey Administration:Both Interview and Self-administered Questionnaires Method
Sample Population:9,000 males and females 20-89 years of age (question batteries called for will be asked to 4,500 respondents, half of the total sample population)

Call for Research Issues:EASS (Cross-national Survey in East Asia)
We also invite applications for research proposals for EASS (a general research theme is specified). Research proposals, accepted as a result of screening, may be adopted across KGSS (Korea), TSCS (Taiwan), and CGSS (China) as well as in our JGSS, upon consultation between the countries/region involved. Successful applicants are entitled to participate in the survey from its design stage in cooperation with the JGSS Research Center and to collect and analyze the survey data to undertake the research. (*Applications for research proposals for EASS are invited about 24 months prior to the implementation of the relevant EASS.)

Survey Theme:Social Capital in East Asia (tentative)
Survey Term:February, 2012 (in Japan)
Survey Administration:A common question module will be integrated into the repeated surveys of each participating country and region.
Language:English will be used to discuss and create specific question module. Finished module will be translated into each original language for surveys
